Curriculum Intent
At Mulberry Academy Woodside, our curriculum is driven by ambition and the pursuit of academic excellence for all students.
We are committed to providing a challenging, inclusive and knowledge-rich curriculum that empowers all students, regardless of starting point, to achieve their full potential.
The Woodside Curriculum is so much more than what just happens in the classroom, please see our extended schools programme and Careers pages.
In line with the SEND Code of Practice (2024), our curriculum is designed to be inclusive by default, with high expectations for all learners. Pupils with SEND are entitled to access the same ambitious curriculum, with teaching adapted through quality-first instruction, reasonable adjustments and targeted support where necessary. Adaptations are planned proactively rather than reactively, ensuring pupils with SEND can build knowledge, skills and independence over time.
Our curriculum is underpinned by our duties under the Equality Act (2010). We are committed to ensuring that all pupils, regardless of protected characteristics, have equitable access to a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum. We actively identify and remove barriers to learning so that no pupil is disadvantaged. Curriculum content and delivery are regularly reviewed to ensure they do not directly or indirectly discriminate and that they promote equality of opportunity and respect for difference.
