Student Leadership
Student council training helps students build leadership and communication skills, represent their peers effectively, and plan projects and events. It also teaches problem-solving, teamwork, and fairness, giving students the confidence to make a real difference in school life.
Training Programme
- HT1 – Leadership: Understanding your role as a student leader and taking responsibility.
- HT2 – Communication: Listening, sharing ideas, and representing your peers effectively.
- HT3 – Teamwork & Trust: Working well with others and building confidence in your team.
- HT4 – Problem Solving & Collaboration: Finding solutions together and making decisions as a group.
- HT5 – Leading Meetings & Public Speaking: Running meetings confidently and presenting ideas clearly to others.
- HT6 – Planning & Action: Turning ideas into projects, organising events, and making a real impact.
Student Council Structure
Year Council Representatives
Each form class elects two representatives during tutor time. These reps gather feedback and ideas from their peers.
Main School Council
The year council representatives then elect members to the main school council, which oversees whole-school initiatives and events.
Anti-Bullying Ambassadors
- Support peers who may be experiencing bullying.
- Lead campaigns and awareness activities, like posters, assemblies, and events.
- Encourage a positive school culture, ensuring every student feels safe and valued.
All anti-bullying ambassadors will take part in regular training.
House Captains
House Captains are student leaders who represent their house in school events and competitions. They:
- Motivate and support fellow house members.
- Help organise house activities, including sports, arts, and charity events.
- Encourage teamwork, school spirit, and positive behaviour across the school.
Value Ambassadors
Value Ambassadors are students who champion the school’s core values of Pride, Kindness, and Respect. They:
- Lead by example in demonstrating these values every day.
- Encourage their peers to live the values in lessons, break times, and school
